ConsultationTo schedule an appointment, contact The Travel Clinic located at Point West Medical Center in the offices of General Internal Medicine of Lancaster. Ask for a travel consult and try to schedule this four to six weeks before your departure. Be prepared to discuss your itinerary, past immunizations, present medications, and existing medical problems. This comprehensive evaluation is unique in Lancaster and includes:

Questions:
How does the travel clinic operate and what is the cost?
Full consults require about one hour and include a short review of medical history, a review of anticipated itinerary and a review of past immunizations. Additional immunizations may be required or recommended depending on history or country of travel. Cost is based on time required for the consult. There are additional charges for any immunizations we administer.
Can I come to The Travel Clinic for immunizations only?
If yellow fever is the only vaccination needed, it will be provided if prescribed by your doctor. If multiple immunizations are required, their timing is critical to their effectiveness. There is a charge for this coordination which will vary with the complexity of the situation.
When should I make an appointment?
We recommend a visit four to six weeks prior to travel, especially if you're traveling to areas where multiple immunizations are needed.
What should I bring?
1) Your travel itinerary; 2) A list of your medical problems and medications; 3) Your immunization history; 4) Yellow International Immunization Card, if you have one - if you don't we will provide it.
How do I make an appointment?
Simply call 397-2738 and ask for a travel consult or an appointment for immunizations. These services are provided at the Point West Medical Center at 2301 Columbia Avenue.
